BUSINESS LAW - CONTRACTS
Some companies try to avoid having formal terms and conditions or detailed commercial contracts. Regularly businesses try drafting themselves, to save money. Woolley & Co understand the need for simple, jargon free commercial contracts but equally make sure adequate protection is available against customers not paying, delays on delivery from suppliers and other unforeseen circumstances. Often a contract for IT systems or software can present its own issues. (...more)

The Importance of Consultancy Contracts
You’re a consultant, offering advice on your specialist subject to other businesses.  You’ve never really bothered with asking your clients to sign complex contracts for when you work.  You don’t imagine you are taking much of a risk.

Please worry!  Your liability is totally unlimited. You might, for example, give advice at a fee of £750 which causes £200,000 of financial / business loss and you can be sued for that loss. That’s just one reason why you should have a contract. OK, let’s not bother with 100% protection via a 100 page complex contract full of legal complexities! A brief plain English contract should cover the basic limitations of your liability, payment provisions, data protection issues and how the contract ends.

Woolley & Co can prepare a consultancy agreement which you can re-use for years at a fixed fee of just £595 plus VAT. Call Woolley & Co on 01789 267377 or email us.
